A whale shark surfaces in the blue of the South Pacific Ocean.
Just as I was about to jump in the water To photograph some humpback whales, the captain shouted that there was a shadow at the back of the boat. None of us knew what it was, but we knew that it wasn’t a whale because it wasn’t coming up to take a breath. I jumped in the water and swam cautiously towards the shape, and as I did, I realised it was a huge whale shark. This was such a wonderful surprise. We quickly forgot about the humpback whales and spent some time with this beautiful animal in the crystal Bluewaters of the South Pacific.
